Roger "Frenchy" Anthony Rosendahl, of Winneconne, formerly of LaCrosse, died Wednesday August 6, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born June 4, 1945, in LaCrosse to Arthur and Margaret (Droivold) Rosendahl.
Frenchy spent most of his working years as a meat cutter and was always around to share his expertise when needed. Frenchy enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He loved cooking for them and sharing old fashioned family recipes with them. Frenchy loved to make a family favorite, "flat bread" almost as much as he loved to eat it. He often spoke of being the camp cook on various outings with close friends. He often shared his life's stories, usually involving family and a life lesson or of close friends and wild adventure.
Frenchy lived life exactly the way he wanted, often taking care of "bidness" along the way. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Frenchy is survived by his four children, Al (Penny) Rosendahl, Roger Rosendahl, Jr., Scott (Vicki) Rosendahl, Kris (Scott) Blochwitz, all of Winneconne; six grandchildren, Scott, Casey, Abbie, Nathan, Hunter, Lillie; one great-grandchild, Jack; his best friend and former wife, Helen Thomson, of Winneconne; one brother and three sisters, Terry (Julie) Rosendahl, Mavis (Lyle) Kruckow, Carol (Marlyn) Meiners, Nancy Von Arx, all of Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Roger in death were his parents; and a brother-in-law, Matt Von Arx.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 111 S. Oak St. in La Crescent, Minnesota followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Rev. Duane Baardseth will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hokah, Minnesota.
Frenchy's family wishes to thank the Mercy Medical Center ICU doctors, nurses, and staff for all of the care given to him.

I had the pleasure of working with Roger at Collins Outdoor. He was such a spark! After he retired, we always looked forward to his visits back to shoot the....breeze! As soon as someone knew he was in the shop for a visit, word would spread fast and we would all come running to hear a story. Heaven has another good one! God Bless and prayers to his family.
