Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Patricia Ann (Garrow) Schober, our loving mother, passed from us on September 6, 2014, at the age of 83 after a long bout with Alzheimer's. She was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on June 22, 1931, the only child of Ada E. Garrow Swanke and Rufus Eugene Garrow.
Pat is survived by two half-brothers and a half-sister; seven children, John and Bonita (Schober) Powers, of Bainbridge Island, Washington; Scott and Candice (Shober) Schober, of Plano, Texas; Todd and Barbara (Trudeau) Schober, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; Jill (Schober) Forbish and David Carufel, of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; Jay and Jennifer (Gregg) Schober, of Marshfield, Wisconsin; Patrick Schober, of Neenah, Wisconsin; Mike Schober and Kim Nelson, of Neenah, Wisconsin; twenty-three grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Our mother will be fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her children, as a skilled bridge player and interior decorator, playfully singing, dancing, and crooning as she played the organ, and taking up a cause. She was instrumental in spearheading the development of the West Side Community Park in Loyal, Wisconsin.
Pat spent all of her life in Wisconsin, growing up in the Fox River Valley. She raised her children primarily in Loyal and Marshfield. Her last years she enjoyed visits, family reunions, and listening to music during her exceptional care at Care Partners in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ralph R. Schober, former Superintendent of Loyal Public Schools.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the burial site in the Union Cemetery, 130 Lynn St. Tigerton, where her mother, stepfather, and husband are also buried. A celebration of her life for family and friends will also take place at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon at the American Legion in Loyal.
Patricia's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Care Partners and Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
Memorials in her name can be made directly to any Alzheimer's or diabetes foundations.

To each Schober family member, so many memories are released as I think of you all and your Mom and Dad. I will never, ever forget your Mom's explosive laugh. One particular beautiful summer morning is so vivid to me when she showed up on our doorstep with a batch of fresh, homemade donuts. Gary and I extend our sympathies to each of you as you are in our thoughts and prayers.

In all likelihood you don't remember me, but I do remember most of you as former students. Having lost my own mother to a similar cruel disease I know how difficult it can be, and I want to offer my sincere condolences. While I did not know your mother well, other than as a caring parent at teacher conferences, I do want you to know how much I respected and admired your father. He was responsible for giving me employment at Loyal back in 1967. I retired from Loyal in 2000 and now reside in Wausau. It was a privilege knowing your parents. Again, I extend my sympathy to each of you. With sincerity, Alan Bedwanic

Pat was a dear friend to me while she lived in Marshfield. We played cards a lot at the Senior Center in Marshfield. It was sad when she left
Marshfield.

To the entire Schober family, I send my most heartfelt condolences. I have felt both your pain and your relief in this long interlude of your Mothers life. If one grew up in Loyal during the Schober era, you can't escape the fact your family has been sewn into the fabric of our lives. Knowing the Schobers is one of the best memories one can take when when leaving our little slice of Wisconsin. Especially Pat's wonderful smile, contagious laugh and big hugs.
God bless each and every one of you.
Most Sincerely,
Mitchell Prior
