Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Michael James Prell died unexpectedly, due to an automobile accident, on Sunday, September 28, 2014. He was born on October 27, 1981, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to his proud parents, Larry and Kathy (Rust) Prell. Michael grew up in Eau Claire for his first nine years of life. In 1990, his family moved to Neenah, Wisconsin where Michael attended Coolidge Elementary School, Horace Mann Middle School, and Neenah High School, where he graduated in 2000. Michael also attended UW-Eau Claire, where he played football.
Michael was such a character and lived an amazing 32 (almost 33) years. He will be missed every day for his unending kindness, hilarious antics, and practical jokes. Michael had a big heart, a big laugh, and a big sense of humor. He had a personality that lit up a room. Michael was truly everyone's best friend. He was instantly liked by everyone he met. In this time of sorrow, it is comforting to know that he is in heaven telling jokes with his Grandpa Rust.
Michael did more in 32 years than most people will do in a lifetime. He had recently found success and loved his job selling cars at Bergstrom Automotive in Appleton. Prior to his career in car sales, it goes without saying that Michael was a bit of a renaissance man. He was an inventor, website designer, radio DJ, teacher, t-shirt printer and salesman, stand-up comedian, and TV "personality." Recently he added limo driver to his repertoire. Michael had a lot of fun driving his limo, El Toro, especially on Packer game day. Michael also took pride in his new house that he had recently renovated.
Michael is going to be missed by so many. In addition to countless friends, Michael is survived by his parents, Larry and Kathy Prell, of Neenah; sister, Lisa and her husband, Ryan Olson, of Winneconne, and their children, Hannah, Halen, and Emma; sister, Lindsey and her husband, Jonathan Lewis, of Estes Park, Colorado, and their soon-to-be baby, Lewis; and brother, Daniel, and his girlfriend, Sara Nollenberg, of Neenah; grandparents, Russell and Veronica Prell, of Eau Claire; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was a great son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and dear friend.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Rust; Aunts Jeanette and Nancy, and Uncle Jim.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 620 Division St. Neenah, and will continue on Friday, October 3 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the church. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at noon at the church with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating.
If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfuneralhomeinc.com.

You do not know me but I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mike. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike last week when I decided to go test drive a few vehicles at Bergstrom. He pulled up to me in a golf cart and from the instant I met him he made me feel as if I had known him my entire life. What a great guy! I feel very blessed that I had the opportunity to be his friend for only a day. He shared pictures of his new home with me and was so proud. He helped me with the purchase of my new car which I picked up Saturday afternoon. I can still see his smiling face as I drove off. He was a true professional and a pleasure to work with. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time.

The world just grew a little darker now that Mike's light, love, and laughter is gone. You were the kindest, sweetest, and funniest man and I hope that you are having fun up there and perhaps telling jokes with Robin Williams. Thinking of you and all of your family and friends!

Mike Prell holds a significant place in my mind and heart. I was a substitute teacher in Liberty, MO where Mike was a teacher at our alternative high school. He was just the right type of person (staff) to be a part of the facility. He was big,his presence was seen and felt,a male, had a bigger heart, was fun and had a genuine compassion for the students and his fellow staff members. Mike was real and approachable without being loud, self seeking or aggressive. He was appreciated by all for his quite yet humorous being. It was nice being with him and you knew he had your back.I believe the students felt the same way. I was deeply saddened to hear about his fatal accident. God got another great one.He will be missed by many. I do not understand why such a great person like Mike has had to leave this earth at such a young age, I just trust God's plan, even though I do not understand it or like it. Mike was good and Mike will live on in my mind when I think of him and his cute and ornery smiles. I will see a young man with a huge heart and creative soul whom made many laugh and feel good. I feel sorry for his family and friends and I hope to see him in heaven.

Mike was one of the funniest people I have ever met. He completely embraced life and lived every minute. He certainly made work a more entertaining place to be. I am so saddened about his loss. The world is definitely a less funny place to be. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
