Orville J. Stalzer, age 76, of Winneconne died Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Omro Care Center. He was born August 28, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Neuroth) Stalzer. On November 18, 2000, Orville married Diana (Van Domelen) Plath. He had worked at Woodman's Food Market, Appleton, Wayne's Piggly Wiggly, Winneconne, and drove Suburban for Falk Bus Co. in Winneconne. His hobbies included pigeon flying, playing golf, and hunting. Orv enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, who he was very proud of, and he took pride in his house and yard.
Orville is survived by his wife, Diana Plath-Stalzer, of Winneconne; his five children and their families, Kimberly Stalzer, of Houston, Texas, her daughter Ashley Stalzer, and two great-grandchildren; Greg and Casandra Stalzer, of Anchorage, Alaska, and their two children Nate and Hannah; Chad Stalzer, of Indiana; Tim Stalzer, of Anchorage, Alaska; Doug and Christy Stalzer, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, six sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law, Vern and Jane Stalzer, Melvin and Joyce Stalzer, Bernadette Stalzer, Janice and Keith Reffke, Carol and Bob DeWitt, Judy Lauer; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Orv was also preceded in death by a brother, Ron Stalzer.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, February 1 at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
