Francis J. Crowley, age 84, of the town of Poygan, passed away peacefully Monday, May 25, 2015, at home with his family by his side.
He was born on October 17, 1930, in the town of Poygan to the late James and Florence (Gibson) Crowley. On June 8, 1957, Francis married Janice Gocker at St. Peter's Church in Oshkosh. Francis was a lifetime farmer. In 1965 he earned the Winnebago County Outstanding Young Farmer Award. Francis was a member of the Wisconsin and Winnebago County Holstein Associations, the Winnebago County Fair Board, the St. Thomas Cemetery Association, and St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne. He had also served on the Winneconne/Poygan Fire Department as well as the District #1 Sanitary District Supervisor with the town of Poygan. Upon his retirement from farming Francis worked for Radtke Construction.
Francis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Crowley; six children and their families, Mary and Jeff Bradley and their family, Keven and Haley Bradley, Megan and Gerad Gast and their children, Isabel, Eli, Emilee, and Cooper, Brian and Laura Bradley; Joan and Jeff Huntoon and their family, Sarah Huntoon and Dexter Kaetterhenry, Anna Huntoon, and Jacob Huntoon; Frances Crowley Yuronich and Rob Yuronich and their family, Melonie and Jacob Wiesner and their children, Fynnlee and Reagan; James and Kathleen Crowley and their family, Amanda, James L., Janna, Mitchell, and Matthew Crowley; Kathaleen and David Stilp; Patrick and Jennifer Crowley and their family, Hunter and Bryce Crowley. He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence Crowley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Doris Gocker; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Francis was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Crowley; a sister, Ellen Mae Lee; a niece, Ruth Ann Kallas; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Lorayne Gocker; and a special pet companion, Willow.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, May 28, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Poygan.
