Mike left to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2015. He was born on November 5, 1921, the son of B. F. and Linda Zimmerman. Mike was married to Enid Ulrich, August 10, 1946. He was a mink and dairy farmer for forty-nine years. Mike's interests included flower and vegetable gardening, watching wildlife at his home on the Wolf River, and participating in basketball, football, and baseball both as a player and fan. His kind nature impacted many family members and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Enid who was his best friend, and soulmate; sisters-in-law, Ila Zimmerman and Barbara Zimmerman; many nieces and nephews; as well as a family that brought him great joy ... Steve, Marla, Garrett (Nicole & Micah), Trevor (Kelli), Noah, and Molly Hendry.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verla Eckstein (Chub); brothers, Ralph "Waddy", Myrle "Red", Orville "OB"; sister-in-law, Catherine "Polly"; and nephew, John Zimmerman.
A graveside service will be on Monday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Winneconne Cemetery. Following the burial family and friends are invited to the Fin n Feather for a meal.
Mike's life was well lived. We will miss him, but rejoice that this is not "good bye" but "good night", for we will all meet in the morning. He has run the race well, and we have had the privilege of following him to the finish line.

06/05/2015 "This past year and a half has been nothing short of a blessing. Not only has it taught me to appreciate my youth, but it's taught me to appreciate everyone around me especially my family. Uncle Mike was honestly the most warm hearted and easy going person. I'm so lucky to have been able to get to know him like I did. Some things he said and did I will NEVER forget. When he first moved in with us I was a little skeptical on how it was all going to turn out, and now looking back on it it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Not many people have been roomies with a 93 year old and I'm not ashamed to say I was. All of the sayings and habits he had can't even be described, especially his sense of humor. Uncle Mike's time on this earth has come to an end, but the memories my family and I have of him have not. I know this is all God's plan, and I know he's not in pain anymore. I love you Elmer. Rest easy "Fella"."
