Lucille J. Piotter, age 92, of Omro, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Omro Care Center. She was born January 7, 1923, in Clintonville to the late Robert, Sr. and Alma (Roloff) Schultz. On July 26, 1940, Lu married Martin Piotter in Clintonville, and they eventually moved to the Town of Rushford where they started farming in 1950. For 52 years, she worked at Miles Kimball, and then at Kwik Trip in Omro until her retirement. Lu was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Omro. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, and bird watching, which included her Purple Martin colony.
Lucille is survived by four children, Marcia (Robert) Nowicki, of Berlin; Marshall "Butch" Piotter, of Omro; Larry "Jess" Piotter, of Berlin; Judy (Steve) Mugerauer, all of Omro; grandchildren, Cindy (David) Eaton, Sue (Doug) Stowe, Lorrie (Lorin) Sternberg, Brenda (Dave) Werner, Jason (Amy) Piotter, Shawn (Cristen) Piotter, Jennifer (Gregg) Guimond, Julie (Frank) Buelow; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert "Bucky" (Delores) Schultz; a sister, Delilah "Lolly" Weber; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Millie Schultz, Wally (Rose) Piotter, Ruby Piotter, Dorothy Piotter; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with her parents, Lucille was also preceded in death by her husband Martin on August 28, 2007; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Piotter; two brothers, six sisters-in-law, and nine brothers-in-law, Ken Schultz, Donald (Jeannie)Schultz, Esther (Bill) Lawrence, Ruth (William) Bloch, Harold, Alfred "Shorty" (Ceil), Roger, and Elmer Piotter, Robert Weber, Margret (Ken) Stroesenruther, Marie (Paul) Heise, and Vivian Piotter.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 4:00 to7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, and will continue on Friday, June 12, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave. Omro. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Richard Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hospice Advantage, Grace Lutheran Church, Omro, Calvary Lutheran Church, Princeton, and the Omro First Responders.
Lu's family would like to thank the staffs of Omro Care Center and Hospice Advantage for the care given to her these past few years, and the Omro First Responders and the Oshkosh Fire Department for their assistance whenever needed.
