Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Wilma J. (Gore) Christianson
Larsen, Wisconsin
Wilma J. Christianson, age 79, of Larsen, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh.
Wilma was born on September 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Melvin and Lettie (Fielding) Gore. Growing up on the family farm, near Dale, gave her a strong work ethic and many fond memories. Wilma was a graduate of New London High School. She worked at the Appleton State Bank in Dale. While working at the bank she met Charles Christianson and they were married on June 21, 1961, and moved to Larsen. They raised three sons that kept her busy. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Mary Circle. Wilma loved to garden, bake, sew, and travel in the family camper "out west". She also enjoyed taking day trips throughout Wisconsin.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Charles; her three sons, John (Patti), Michael (Amy Jo), and Lee (special friend Brenda); five grandchildren: Angela (special friend Kyle), Bryan, Heather, Lettie, and Hans; step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandi. She is also survived by a special daughter-in-law, Kathie Christianson; a sister, Ruth Vonck; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gore, Vivian Gore, Margot Christianson, and Lorraine Anderson; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and June Julius; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles Gore, Owen Gore, and Gerald Gore; her sister Betty Jane; sister-in-law, Lorna Gore, brothers-in-law, Emory Christianson and Leo Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Wilma will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Wilma's family extends a special thank you to the staff of Park View Health Center in Oshkosh for taking such great care of her the last year. Their love and support is greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
