Carol (Foote) Posorske, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh.
She was born March 12, 1923, in the town of Nepeuskun, Winnebago County, daughter of Clair and Lena (Searles) Foote. On February 28, 1946, Carol married Howard Posorske at the Waukau United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Green Lake County Normal and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Carol taught school in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties, retiring in 1985 after 25 years.
She was a member of the Waukau United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church, Oshkosh. Carol enjoyed a 50 year membership in Homemakers Club and also the Omro Study Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Carol is survived by a son, Laurence, a patent attorney, (Lynn MD), of Rockville, Maryland; daughter, Barbara (Gary) Whitfield, of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Alex and Matt Posorske, Barnaby, Ryan, Eric, and Eliza Whitfield; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Carol in death were her parents; her husband Howard on January 29, 2015; a sister, Avis Mallas; and a brother, Don Foote.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Cathie Vander Velden officiating. Burial will follow in the Shead Island Cemetery, Auroraville.
