Lester O. Rasmussen
Winchester, Wisconsin

Lester O. Rasmussen, age 84, of Winchester, died Monday, December 28, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born April 10, 1925, in the Town of Winchester, to the late Lars and Pauline (Ihrig) Rasmussen. On October 10, 1964, Lester married Edna Ticks. For many years he worked for Ingersoll in Winneconne until retiring. Lester was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, and he served many years on the Clayton/Winchester Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, working in the woods, watching the Green Bay Packers, hunting, fishing, and feeding the birds. Lester also loved to bake, cook, and canning fruits and vegetables.
Lester is survived by his wife of 45 years, Edna Rasmussen, of Winchester; four sisters, Marian Kohler, Evelyn Schierland, both of Winchester; Adeline Butter, of Seymour; Pauline Johnson, of Menasha; one brother, Frederick Rasmussen, of Winchester; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Lester was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gruenwald; one sister, Florence; and three brothers, Carl, Christian, and George Rasmussen.
A Funeral Service for Lester will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
