Robert Joseph Peters, age 80, of Wild Rose, formerly of Omro, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Webster Manor in Omro surrounded by his loving children. He was born November 25, 1935, in Little Chute to the late Frank and Agnes Peters.
Bob was a graduate of St. Norbert High School in DePere. He served his country in the U.S. Army with the Military Assistance Advisory Group. On June 15, 1963, Bob married Ardell Gavinski at St. John the Baptist Church in Menasha.
He worked for many years as a plumbing and heating contractor in Omro. Bob was involved in scouting as a Scoutmaster and Bay Lakes Council Unit Commissioner. For 69 years he was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Omro and was currently a member of St. Mark's Parish in Redgranite. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and past member of Kiwanis International. Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved duck and deer hunting with his sons, with fond memories of duck and deer hunting trips with his son Doug.
Bob is survived by two sons, Gregory (Susan) Peters, of Omro; Douglas Peters (Jill Messerschmidt), of Winneconne; two daughters, Debora (Mark) Flora, of Lexington, Kentucky; and Linda (Todd) Keller, of Monona; nine grandchildren, Steven, Nicole, and Michael Peters, Bryce Peters, Caley, Tierney, and Taylor Stromberg, and Jennifer and Cassandra Keller; a great-grandson, Pierce Jr.; a sister, Judy Umhoefer; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his wife Ardell on July 4, 2009.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, April 10, 2016, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, where a prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 11 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 228 Church Ave. Redgranite. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Joseph Mattern and Deacon Bob Precourt officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Redgranite.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. Mark's Catholic Church, Redgranite.
Bob's family wishes to thank Lyne Shaffer and the staff at Webster Manor, and the staffs of ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Homeinstead, and Fox Valley Hematology and Associates for all of the care given to him. A special thank you to friends Fred Raufeisen, Audrey Klamrowski, and Fr. Joe Mattern for their many years of prayers and support.

Our sympathy to Bob's family. So sorry to hear this. Jim had many good memories of hunting with him, especially ducks. Always will remember him as being friendly, and his good sense of humor. We are in Arizona so sorry we will not be able to attend visitation or Funeral. He will be in our prayers and thoughts.May he rest in Peace.

My condolences to the Peters family and especially to Debora. Bob was a one of a kind and I have numerous good memories of him. He is now resting in the arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ...telling more hunting and fishing stories. Rest in Peace.
