Thomas R. Rhyner, age, 83, of Winneconne died Monday, April 18, 2016, at home. He was born October 1, 1932, in Oshkosh to the late Robert and Irene (Zarling) Rhyner. Tom served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Rhyner's Mosaic & Tile until his retirement.
Since his childhood Tom has always had a sense of humor which everyone loved about him. He was drafted and played minor league baseball for the Seattle Pilots. He enjoyed following the stock market, watching westerns and sports, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Tom especially loved special times with family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife of 39 years, Violet "m'darlin"; his two children, Roxanne Roehrick (fiancé, Rick Lee), Mike (Lisa) Rhyner; step-children, Max Rasmussen, Jay (Diane) Rasmussen, Sue Rasmussen (fiancé, Brian Kaster); three grandchildren, Andrea Roehrick, Tyler Rhyner, Brett Rhyner; step-grandchildren, Tara (Josh) DePeau, Ryan (Shaya) Koss, Dahlia Rasmussen, Jared Rasmussen, Deanna (Josh) Fifield, Sierra Will, Alan Rasmussen; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Ramiro Hernandez) Treichel, Susan (Ted) Otto; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Wentz, Arlene (Glenn) Michels, Ruth (Chuck) Bradley, Lucille Weidemann, Leroy (Karilyn) Peterson, Rick (Cindy) Peterson, June (Bob) Johnson; buddy, Ceil; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Roehrick; and a step-son, Alan Rasmussen.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Alan Cleveland officiating. Military honors will follow.
