Afterwards they were returned to the neighborhood and fed and cared for by her; breakfast, lunch, and supper every day, they were always there waiting for the ready hand out.
Barbara was known to her friends as someone who always was in a good mood and with a smile on her face.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear loved one. It seems no greater sadness is felt than when someone so dear to us is loss. May you find comfort in your memories and draw strength from a promise God has provided which gives the hope of someday being reunited with your beloved ( John 5 : 28,29 ). This promised future is one that will be filled with great joy because it will include perfect health and everlasting life on a paradise earth where " the former things have passed away " ( Rev. 21 : 4, Psalms 37 : 29 ). May you find some comfort in knowing that God does care and He does hear our cries. Please accept my most sincere condolences

Barbara was a dear friend to me while her and Carl lived in Milwaukee (1978-1988) and we continued our friendship long distance. She was one of the best friends I ever had and my sympathies to her family and the wonderful friends she had in Winneconne. I am so saddened losing such a wonderful friend but she's with Carl now.

To the family of Barbara Kohnert:
I was very sorry to hear of the loss of Barbara. We became acquainted when she began volunteering as an usher at the Grand Opera House. It was apparent that she was a dedicated volunteer who enjoyed being there when she was needed, and she was always pleasant with the patrons. We were thankful for her services and she will be missed. God Bless her and all of her family
