Edward W. Tanner, age 80, of Winneconne, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at home. He was born October 13, 1935, in Eureka to the late Willis and Helen (Diehl) Tanner. Ed attended Omro schools and was a graduate of Omro High School. On January 28, 1956, he married Marlene A. Butt in Omro. For many years he worked for Linnan Construction and Engineering, Brookfield until his retirement. Ed enjoyed fishing, casino trips, traveling, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Ed is survived by three children, Steven Tanner, of Milwaukee; David (Laurie) Tanner, of Oshkosh; Michele (Edgar) Sutta, of Winneconne; companion, Carol Butt, of Winneconne; two granddaughters, Casey Tanner (fiancé, Tim Ahrens), of Winneconne; Kristie Tanner, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a great-granddaughter, Kinsley; one sister, Mary Wuske; one brother, Chuck (Barb) Tanner; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by his wife, Marlene on November 26, 2008; four brothers and two sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, June 20, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, where military honors will be held at 4:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Omro Cemetery.
