Betty Mae Posorske, age 87, formerly of Jefferson, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Kindred Hearts in Cottage Grove. She was born on the family farm in the Rushford Township, Winnebago County, to the late Arthur and Emma (Weiss) Steinke on April 30, 1929. Betty attended Bell School and Berlin High School, graduating in 1946. In December of 1948 she married Burt Posorske. They moved to Warren, Illinois where they raised four children. Betty was employed by Janlin Plastics for several years and moved to Waunakee after the passing away of her husband in 1985. She worked for Oscar Mayer & Co. retiring in 1994. In 2000 Betty moved to Jefferson and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church there.
Betty is survived by her four children, Gary (Kathy) Posorske, of Cambridge; Bonnie (Steve) Huber, of Carmel, Indiana; Bob (Joan) Posorske, of Slinger; David (Diane) Posorske, of Jefferson; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verna Lee and Ardene Starr; a brother, Glenn Steinke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and three nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor George Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Shead Island Cemetery, Town of Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty's name may be made to the charity of your choice, or to the Shead Island Cemetery in care of Mueller Funeral Home.
