Erwin Von Holzen, age 90, of Winneconne died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Winneconne. He was born June 14, 1926, in Monroe, Wisconsin to the late Casper and Mary (Weschler) Von Holzen. Erwin served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. On June 14, 1947, he married Marian Krizan at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Ashland. For many years Erwin was a milk can hauler and later he and Marian started Von Holzen Dairy. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.
Erwin is survived by three children and their spouses, Richard and Cindy Von Holzen, Dianne and Mike Phillips, Dennis and Julie Von Holzen; five grandchildren, Rick and Darcey Von Holzen, Rob and Nicole Von Holzen, David and Stacy Phillips, Katie Von Holzen, Amy Von Holzen; four great-grandchildren, Bryce and Jena Von Holzen, and Ethan and Liliana Von Holzen; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Erwin was preceded in death by his wife Marian on July 26, 2013; a grandson, Daniel Phillips; and two brothers, Warner and Walter Von Holzen.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Military honors will follow. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
