Eunice "Lucy" Mae Schmidt, age 83, of the town of Clayton died Saturday, August 20, 2016, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah. She was born April 13, 1933, on the family farm in the town of Clayton to the late Edward and Freida (Zeinert) Schmidt. Eunice farmed all of her life with her Uncle Carl Zeinert until his death in 2002. Lucy was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She enjoyed reading, bowling, playing cards, taking care of her flowers, and trips to Hawaii, Niagara Falls, and Washington D.C.
Eunice is survived by two sisters, Leona Umland, of Larsen; Marion (Gale) Meartz, of Neenah; nieces, Sharon (Phillip) Zuberbier, of Appleton; Nancy (Todd) Ninman, of Madison; Linda (Kevin) Kilsdonk, of Marion, Iowa; nephew, Keith (Sandie) Umland, of Larsen; great-nieces, Sarah (Jay) Kanaman, Jennifer Zuberbier, Stephanie (Christopher) Rodriguez-Ninman, Heather Kilsdonk, Jessica Kilsdonk, Viktoria Umland; great-nephews, Daniel (Cristina) Zuberbier, Robert (Abby) Zuberbier, Eric Zuberbier, Christopher (Antonella) Ninman, a step-great-nephew, Lance Olsen; two goddaughters, Sharon Zuberbier and Jean Zeinert; great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces, Ayden and Karson Kanaman, Ethan, Riley, Mariella, Theo, and Adelyn Zuberbier.
Along with her parents, Eunice was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Willis Umland; aunts and uncles, Ruth Linstedt, Eunice Zeinert, Carl, Willis, Alfred, Bruno, Walter, Erwin, and Robert Zeinert; a great-great-niece, Zoey Zuberbier; and her four-legged companion, Molly.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, August 29, 2016, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church 407 Oak St. Neenah. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. the church with Pastor Tony McKenzie officiating. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established for Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah, and the Larsen/Winchester Lions Club.
A special note of thanks to David and Carol Keberlein, her close neighbors and guardian angels, for all their help and support throughout the years. Also thank you to Pastor Engelbrecht and Pastor McKenzie for all of their visits with Lucy.
