Bonnie J. Salm, age 82, of Neenah, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, at home. She was born July 7, 1939, in Oshkosh to the late Myron and Jane (Helm) Chase.

Bonne was a lifelong active member of the Allenville Community Baptist Church and was involved with the prayer group, married couples as well as many other church activities. On September 11, 1959, she married Jim Salm, her childhood sweetheart, at the church. Bonnie and Jim enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends at home and up north. They loved to travel, memorable trips included Alaska and Europe. During the summer, they took numerous long distance motorcycle trips. For many years, they wintered in Mexico, Arizona, or Florida. Bonnie was famous for her baked goods and was known for her bars, desserts, cookies, and quick breads. Bonnie was incredibly kind, sweet, and generous, who loved her family and was treasured by all who knew her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Salm, of Neenah; three children, Terri (Ken) Gruetzmacher, Keith (Katie) Salm, Sandy (Tom) Eckstein, all of Neenah; six grandchildren, Ross Gruetzmacher, of Neenah; Troy (Julia) Gruetzmacher, of Missoula, Montana; Erik (Heidi) Salm, of Larsen; Kyle (Erin) Salm, of Neenah; Kortney (Daniel) Weilep, of Weston; Brooke Eckstein (fiancé, Eric Schumacher), of Hortonville; seven great-grandchildren, Oliver, Aubrey, and Jacob Salm, Maverik and Lane Salm, Willow and Ellie Weilep, and a Gruetzmacher baby on the way. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jim (Daisy) Chase, Carol Reiter, Mike (Kathy) Chase, Sharon (Brad) Davis, Susan (Chuck) Doemel, Kathy (Joe) Hughes, Connie (Jim) Doemel; brothers-in-law, Gerry Glatz, Lyle Berndt; sister-in-law, Rosemary (Leon) Freischmidt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Along with her parents, Bonnie was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Melvin Chase, Richard Chase, Mary Glatz; brother-in-law, Robert “Bowder” Reiter; sister-in-law, Beverly Berndt.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Eisley officiating. Burial will be on Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clayton Cemetery.
