Gregory Allen Petrie, age 65, of Winneconne, died Monday, February 21, 2022, at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, after fighting hard with many health issues for the last 6 years, never giving up.
He was born August 28, 1956, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. On October 4, 1974, Greg married Debbie Niemuth, and they renewed their vows on July 9, 2010. He was currently working as a truck driver for County Materials. Family was most important to Greg, providing for them, and spending time with them, including camping on the weekends, racing, coaching football and baseball, helping build derby cars, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne.
Greg is survived by the love of his life, Debbie Petrie; children, Chad Petrie (Erika), Becky Zinecker, Mandie (Chad) Weidemann; grandchildren, Bridget Petrie (Kyle), Gregory Allen Petrie II (Kim), Garrett Zinecker (Ali), Lucas Weidemann, Koleton Zinecker (Grace), Mercedes Phyllis Elizabeth “Sadie” Weidemann; great-grandchildren, Kaydence “KK”, Alex, Rylinn, Payslee; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Greg in death were his mother, Phyllis Downs; grandparents, Elizabeth and Lyle Downs; uncles, LaVerne Downs, Bill Downs; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Nelda Niemuth.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church 8 S. 4th St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. A private burial will be at the Winneconne Cemetery at a later date. The pallbearers will be: Chad Petrie, Becky Zinecker, Gregory Allen Petrie II, Garrett Zinecker, Lucas Weidemann, and Koleton Zinecker.

Mandie and family... I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. He was taken much too soon but will continue to live on in all of you as you continue to live his legacy and he watches over you from above. I never got to meet him in person - but I know from how he raised you to be the amazing and strong person that you are - that he had to be an incredible man. He will always be your super hero and he will always be with you in your heart!! Hugs my friend!!

I may not have known the man but I’ve heard nothing but good things about him from his daughter Becky has been a true friend to me and my wife she helped me many times and we didn’t think my wife was going to make it I pray for the entire family and they always say God only takes the best first God bless the whole entire family and the heavenly father out for them
