Scott Wayne Mathison, 42, of Larsen, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2022.

Scott was born on August 7, 1979, to Sharon and the late Dean Mathison, in Neenah, WI. He was a 1997 graduate of Winneconne High School.

Scott married Jennifer Williams on June 6, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester.

Scott was very proud of carrying on the family tradition of serving his community like his grandpa, uncle, dad, and along with his brother. Scott served the Clayton/Winchester Fire Department and currently the Town of Winchester Fire Department for 25 years. He served as Officer, Firefighter, Driver Operator, and First Responder. Scott served on the Larsen-Winchester Sanitary District board. Scott worked for Quality Contracting.

Scott's other interests included; working on his trucks, spending time with his family and friends, cutting grass in the summer, and pushing snow in the winter. Scott enjoyed playing in the mud, whether it was in his truck or on his 4- wheeler. We truly found out who his friends are. He was loved and will be missed by so many.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jennifer; son, Conway; daughters, Alyssa (Justin) Pederson, and Leti; granddaughters, Norah, Kinsley, Hazel; his mom, Sharon Mathison; siblings, Kim (Brian) Ritchie, Glen Mathison (Gwen Francart), Amy (Gregg) Wilke; In-laws, Michael and Janet Williams, Christine and Thomas Rehm; brothers-in-law, Eric (Sarah) Williams, Nicholas Williams; sisters-in-law, Amy (Ricky) Jesse, Rebecca Williams; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends; and his dog, Mabel.

Scott was preceded in death by his dad, Dean; his grandparents, Russell and Leona Mathison, James and Joyce Whitney; and his aunt, Shirley Mathison.

We invite you to join us for a visitation on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 8396 Steeple Hill Dr. Larsen, WI. Visitation will continue on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church with a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Brian Staude will be officiating. The funeral at church will be live streamed, go to facebook.com/graceofwinchester. Scott will be memorialized with an Active-Duty Firefighter funeral service, followed by a fire truck procession. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to "Scott Mathison Benefit" at any Community First Credit Union.

The family wishes to thank the Fox Crossing Fire Department, Fox Crossing Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff's Department, Winnebago County 911 Dispatch Center, Winnebago County Coroner's Office, Accel Towing, and Gold Cross Ambulance. We know it was a hard scene to deal with, but we thank you all for being there for Scott.

Scott was in my class and I didn’t know him well, but he was always one of the nice farm boys to me. We probably had plenty of interactions that I don’t remember back then, but mostly I remember seeing him at the class reunions and he helped answer some questions I had via Facebook a few years ago, pertaining to fire safety. I was so grateful and I remember feeling like he was such a kind soul and I never really knew. I’m so very sorry all of you are experiencing this. It’s horrific. And it’s sad to feel the light he was has left our planet. I hope the wonderful memories you all have will help Scott’s good nature and big heart to live on and be a teacher for his children and grand babies. Sending you all some deep heartfelt love and hoping Scott’s spirit is felt within you always.

I don't have the words that describe the loss of our friend and brother. I was brought up never doubting God's decisions. But I have to ask why why Scott? He must have a greater plan for him, maybe it's to watch over all of us left here on Earth that loved him so much. We will truly miss you Scott. You will never be forgotten....
