LeRoy John Ihde peacefully went home to his Lord on April 27, 2022, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Shirley Anita (Meyer) Ihde.

LeRoy was also preceded in death by his father, Leo Ihde; mother, Norma (Anhalt) Ihde; and brother Victor Ihde.

He is survived by son, Steven (Mary); son, David (Venessa); daughter, Lauri (John) Heeter; son, Dan (Chris); grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah Ann, Forest, Brook, Briar, Seth, Samantha, Isaac, Abigail, Lilly; and seven great-grandchildren.

LeRoy was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was awarded a Purple Heart while proudly serving as a United States Marine in the Korean War and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. After the Korean war he earned an accounting degree and became an insurance underwriter for CNA where he worked until his retirement. In retirement, he became an expert furniture refinisher and loved giving tattered furniture new life. His beautiful antique restorations will allow all to remember him for years to come. His quick wit and love of music were apparent, as he often sang songs to make every conversation memorable. LeRoy was a kind and gentle soul who made an impact on all who knew him. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church 6810 N. 107th St. Milwaukee. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jeremy Wosje officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the West Granville Cemetery, Milwaukee. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne, 920-582-4242, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
