Mary E. Beck, age 84, of the town of Poygan, passed away Sunday night, October 30, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
She was born June 1, 1932, in Neenah to the late William J. and Hazel H. (Dumbleton) Peterson. Mary was a 1950 graduate of Neenah High School, and then graduated as an L.P.N. from the Theda Clark Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She began her nursing career at Theda Clark and worked at various nursing homes and private homes until her retirement. While working at Theda Clark she met Charles Beck, and on September 28, 1957, they were married. Mary enjoyed watching "HER" Brewers and Packers and watching the birds at her bird feeders. Mary has been a resident at Omro Care Center since August 2006.
Mary is survived by three children, William, Ann, and Susan; grandchildren, Robyn and Ethan; two great-grandchildren, Kailie and Mason; a sister, Eleanor (Norman) Kraus; sister-in-law, Connie Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2007; brothers, James, Eugene, and Ron; sisters, Carol Thiede and Grace; and a nephew, Steven Peterson.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with Richard Kreager officiating. Burial will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Omro Care Center for their compassionate care of their mom. Also, thank you to her daughter Susan, for all her time caring for mom.
