Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Orville Grever, age 86, of Omro, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Evergreen Manor in Oshkosh. He was born January 8, 1930, in Lake Zurich, Illinois to the late George and Martha (Hapke) Grever. Orville was a 1947 graduate of Ela Township High School. He married Marion (Jirsa) on February 12, 1957, and she preceded him in death on November 2, 1971. On May 19, 1973, Orville married Anna (Voelker) Meeks at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lake Zurich, Illinois and they moved to Omro in 1978. Orville was a "Tiller of the Soil" both in Lake Zurich and Omro. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Omro, the Winnebago Farm Bureau, and the International Lutheran Layman's League. He enjoyed bowling, reading, playing cards, and golf and had scored a hole in one at Wedgewood in Omro.
Orville is survived by his wife, Anna Grever; children, John (Sheryl) Grever, Richard (Kim) Grever, Daniel (Barbara) Meeks, Jane (Robert) Meixner, Margaret (Richard) Bosanko, and Mary (Daniel) Grischow; grandchildren, Matthew Grever, Emily Meixner, Laura (Nicholas) Roth, John Meixner, Jessica (Nate) Held, Joseph Meixner, Rachel Grischow, Ann Grischow, John Grischow, Madisyn Grever, Heather Meeks, Shannon Meeks, Madeline Meeks; two sisters and a brother, Joan Holub, Robert Grever, Donna Mischnick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with his parents and first wife Marion, Orville was also preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave. Omro, and will continue on Friday, January 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Richard Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, Illinois on Saturday, January 7.

Dear Billie and the entire Grever Family,
You Husband, Dad, and Grandpa was a very good story teller with many farm stories along with reminiscing about the Cary area were truly enjoyed by my family as we sat around Jane and Bob's dining room table.
He truly will be missed.
