Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Robert H. Krueger, age 92, of Winneconne, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Omro Care Center. He was born June 10, 1925, in Colby, Wisconsin to the late Charles and Mary (Kraemer) Krueger. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from October, 1944 until November, 1948. On November 14, 1958, he married Mildred "Millie" Benotch. For many years Bob was self-employed with Krueger Bros. Excavating, and then went on to work as an operating engineer for Gillen & Co. Bob also did lawn mower and bicycle repairs and sales from his home for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and he could build and fix anything. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed buying them gifts at Christmas. He was a past member of the Giles-Luce American Legion Post 364, Winneconne.
Bob is survived by four children, Scott (Jodi) Krueger, Jerry (Rita) Cottrell, Mary Holtz, Donna (John) Ziebell; grandchildren, Steve (Lynda) Cottrell, Jeff (Nan) Cottrell, Robbi (Marty) Brethouwer, Julie Studtmann, Kristi (Mark) Anderson, Melissa (Jon) Meinen, Martha (Dennis) Sullivan, Rachel Neutzling, David Ziebell, Mason Krueger, Breinne Krueger; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Calvin, Austin, Kevin, Baylee, Michael, Emma, Sophia, Sydney, Keller, Cooper, Piper, Brady, Andrew, Jack, Molly, Maggie, and Lia Millie; a sister, Dorothy Sawallish; and nieces, nephews, special neighbors, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Krueger; a son-in-law, Robert Holtz; and three sisters and two brothers, Verona Rau, Sylvester Krueger, Raymond Krueger, Ida Wilker, and Alice Thull.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Military honors will follow. Inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.
A memorial will be established for Affinity Hospice.
