Steve "Smiley" Tlachac, 47, Winneconne, formerly of Algoma, passed away Tuesday September 5, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born December 18, 1969, in Algoma to Steve and Pam (Flavion) Tlachac. Steve graduated from the Algoma High School and attended NWTC in Green Bay. Steve worked at Plumbers Woodwork in Algoma for a short time then had his own roofing company. He moved to Oshkosh and worked at Sonoco Paper Mill in Menasha for about 17 years. He had moved while working in Menasha to Winneconne where he presently lived. Due to health issues Steve was never able to get another job. He enjoyed the time he spent with his two daughters Jordan and Stephanie. He loved watching the Packers, Brewers, and the news. Steve was a hard-working man putting in many hours a week.
Steve is survived by his two daughters, Jordan and Stephanie; his mother, Pam (Tom) Ulatowski, Algoma; his twin sister, Jamie (Mike) Salzsieder, Algoma; nieces, Haley and Ashley Salzsieder; Steve was a Godfather to Haley and Zach Dellis; his maternal grandmother, Betty Flavion, Algoma; aunts, Theresa (Tom) Nellis, LuAnn (Joe) Dellis, and Carol VanLanen; uncle, Bill (Heidi) Flavion; the mother of his daughters, Karen; and other cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve; sister, Melissa; grandparents, Bill Flavion, Ben (Mable) Tlachac; and an aunt, Marilyn (Danny) Ornstein.
Family and friends may gather at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017, until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. John Moll officiating.
