My mother, Joyce Dexter, was always very fond of her half-sister Carol, who I knew as Aunt Carol. If my mother were still alive, I know she would be mourning deeply, with the rest of us.

I still remember attending Carol and Lester's wedding in 1956. I was 6; my brother Steve (9) was the ring bearer. Carol's beaming smile was always a comfort to me during my childhood right up to when Dad (Wade Dexter) and I last visited her and Lester during our 2008 trip to Oshkosh. She always kept tabs on Mom's and Dad's health. My wife, Karen, and I send our love and prayers to Lester, Keriann and all family members and friends.
