Sharlene Sharon (Johnston) Longworth peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the age of 84 with her devoted and loving husband by her side. She was born September 28, 1933, to the late Lyle and Daisy Johnston and lived her entire life in Omro, Wisconsin. Sharlene and her husband, Larry "Butch" Longworth, treasured living the past 47 years at their rural Omro home where they loved riding horses, eating from their abundant garden, and running their business. Shar even drove the dozer when she was needed and always did an excellent job managing the "business" side of Longworth Trenching. Her horses - Shar was still riding just a few months ago - and her cats were very precious to her. Sharlene lost her beloved daughter and best friend, Cheri, many years ago following a tragic accident and passionately devoted her time to ensuring that her son, Rick, would become the independent, loving, and caring man that he is today. Sharlene was always inquisitive, loved to learn and explore, and was known for her feisty and bold personality.
Sharlene led an adventurous and fulfilling life, enjoying trail riding throughout the U.S. with her adored horses, water skiing, western dancing, and traveling to exotic and exciting places with Butch. Their extensive travels included Japan, China, India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Israel, Egypt, and South Africa. Hawaii was also a very special place for Shar. Shar said she lived her life doing things that others only dreamed of and said, "I didn't miss much!"
Sharlene is survived by her husband, Larry "Butch" Longworth; her son, Rick Davidson; her very special sister-in-law, Sharon (Jack) Spiegelberg; brother-in-law, Donald Longworth, sisters-in-law, Shirley Loker and Marge Longworth; numerous nieces and nephews, and some wonderfully delightful and devoted friends that she shared many adventures with.
Shar was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Roy Treleven; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Beverly Johnston; brothers-in-law, Arden Longworth and Leslie Loker; sister-in-law, Mavis Longworth; three nephews; and her loving daughter Cheri Davidson.
A celebration of Sharlene's life will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne followed immediately by a service honoring Shar's time with us. Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Omro Cemetery.

It was my privilege to have visited with Sharlene during the recent past, and unfortunately when I went recently to Parkview to see her again, she was gone. Gone, that is, to join the Communion of Saints. She loved many, and was loved by many, and now is immersed in Universal Love....

I am so surprised to find out about this sorrow. She taught me SO much about horses with her always wanting to ride. She will be really missed by me. Well, now she can still guide us as she did so many times before, but now she'll ride the horses with wings in heaven.
