Florence Rose Bersch, 92, of Winneconne, WI and Ruskin, FL, died unexpectedly in Florida on Friday, October 27, 2017. She was born April 13, 1925, in Omro, WI, the youngest child of Frank and Fredalena (Jungwirth) Peterson. On March 11, 1944, Florence was united in marriage to Merriman E. Bersch. They made their home on Lake Winneconne and shared almost 45 years together before his death on February 22, 1989. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne.
For over 30 years Florence has been a "snowbird" spending winters with family and friends in Florida and at the time of her death she had just arrived in Florida to start another winter away from the cold. She also enjoyed traveling to many different parts of the United States both with her husband, her sister Mary Johnson, and later with her cousin Beatrice Swenson.
Florence was always busy with one of her many projects, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and most recently repurposing old buttons into jewelry and other unique items. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing computer games and cards, and of course her favorite word was "BINGO". But, what she loved the most was being with and enjoying her family.
Florence's memory will be cherished by her four children, Carl (Donna) Bersch, of Oshkosh; Clyde Bersch, of Winneconne; Gwendolyn (Michael) Biddle, of Winneconne; and Kathleen (Dr. Marc) Blum, of Oshkosh and Siesta Key, FL; daughter-in-law, Shirley Bersch, of Winneconne; grandchildren, Patty Bersch, Madeleine Ashley Bersch Blum, Berkeley Bersch Blum, Chelsea (Ian) Chabal, and Merriman (Marine) Bersch Blum; great-grandson, Jamie Bersch; great-great-grandson, Sylas Bersch; and brother-in-law, Arnold Bersch Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Fredalena Peterson; her husband, Merriman E. Bersch; one son, John M. Bersch; sister, Mary (Robert) Johnson; three brothers, Leo Peterson, Albert (Loretta) Peterson, and John (Gladys) Peterson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Merland (Kaye) Bersch, John Bersch, and Gwendolyn (Selwyn) Boyer.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, November 3, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Merriman E. Bersch Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Fox Valley Technical College Foundation.

The Marine Corps League would like to send our prayers and sympathies to your family. We loved it when she would holler "BINGO" at the Marine Corps League.

To the Blum Family. Words can not begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. I am so glad I got to meet and have dinner with Mrs Bersch in July. Truly an amazing woman.
