Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Jim Heffner, 74, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022. He was born in Oshkosh on July 29, 1947, to the late Fred and Iva (Trexell) Heffner.
He attended Oshkosh High School. Jim served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. On January 23, 1971, he married Charlene Corey. For 37 years he was employed at the Berlin Foundry. Jim attended Wyldewood Baptist Church (formerly Southside) for 60 years, serving as Head Usher, and assisted Wyldewood Christian School’s A.C.E. Student Convention. He enjoyed fishing, model airplanes, the Nelsons’, Ives’ and Patty’s Gospel-singing, watching westerns and visiting. His love for his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, shined brightly; he was a real “people-person”. Jim’s son Lee said Dad had wisdom and Charlene describes Jim as a very loving, thoughtful, and honest husband. Jim fully trusted Christ, knowing that, “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23b
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlene; son, Lee William; sister, Anna; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by siblings, Lita and Luis.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Wyldewood Baptist Church 3030 Witzel Ave. Oshkosh. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Randy King officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Rushford Cemetery.
