Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Jeremy Petit, age 40, died on November 7, 2017, as a result of an accident involving an ATV and a deer.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, Charles (Linda) Petit, and Donna (Darwin) Raatz; his son, Ethan Petit; his sisters, Heather Petit, Brenda (Justin) Marks; brother, Brian (Sarah) Petit; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Connor, Lucy, Kaylee, Hailey, and Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Christina Petit, Jerry and Gladys Lee; his Godparents, Terry Lee and Diane (Petit) Gustke; his uncles, Roger Petit and Louie Petit; and his forever faithful canine companion, Moose.
Jeremy was born on January 14, 1977, to Charles Petit and Donna (Lee) Petit.
Jeremy attended Winneconne High School and graduated with the class of 1996. Jeremy worked at Oshkosh Truck for 8 years, but his most recent job was at Switchgear in Winneconne. He was very fortunate to work with such a great crew, and with so many wonderful people that meant so much to him. He had many close friends with whom he made unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. Jeremy was always there with a listening ear and shoulder for support. Jeremy was happy to help anyone in need. If anyone needed him he was there to help, build, fix, console, or party. He was always willing to give his expertise with building and repairing anything. He enjoyed bonfires, four wheeling, boating, fishing, camping, drawing, working on vehicles, and enjoying a cold one with friends. He was especially talented and created go carts, motor bikes, or anything that he could make go fast. Jeremy's greatest pride and joy was his son, Ethan; Jeremy loved him so much! He was an awesome Dad! Jeremy and Ethan spent countless hours working on special father-son projects. Jeremy was a role model and like a dad to his nieces Jessie and Hailey Petit. He was admired for his talents and loved for his generosity and selflessness. There is so much more about him that can't be put on one piece of paper. We will keep his memory alive by remembering all the times he brought smiles, joy and laughter to us with the many stories we hold close to our hearts. Everyone has a different way that Jeremy has impacted their life. We were truly blessed to have Jeremy in our lives and fortunate to have known a one of a kind, good genuine man. He would want me to say in true Jeremy fashion and spirit, Go Pack Go!
The family would like to thank and extend their sincere appreciation for the lifesaving efforts provided by Sara Cartwright, Steve Schmidt, Kelly Herman, Winneconne-Poygan Fire and Rescue, ThedaStar and Flight Crew, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Neenah, and the many doctors and nurses in the ER and ICU. Thank you to Lewis and Kelly Kumbier and Julie Olson for your support and compassion during our time of need.
We also extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to the UW-Madison Organ Donation Team, Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin, and American Tissue Services Foundation.
There will be a gathering on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, WI 54986, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a get-together and meal to follow at Kaudy Hall, 244 S. Third Ave. Winneconne, WI 54986.

Dear Donna and all of the rest of the family...I write this with a heavy heart because of the pain and sadness you have right now and because I can't be there on Saturday to give you a hug. We've had plans for months to go out of town for Wayne's birthday. I'm sorry I can't be there. It's hard to imagine all you are going through ... I will say more at a different time. For now, know that I love you Donna and that my prayers are with you and your family. Jeremy will be in Heaven with your mom, dad, Terry and the rest who are there waiting. I'll pray for your comfort and healing. Big hug
