Laurel “Laurie” Lynn Birr, age 72, of Winchester, died Thursday, August 11, 2022. She was born on April 14, 1950, in Neenah to the late Milton and Marjorie (Gorr) Westphal. Laurie was an outstanding student and was a graduate of Neenah High School and UW-Madison. On October 17, 1981, she married Michael Birr.

Laurie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael Birr; two sisters and a brother, Nancy (Ralph) Westphal-Johnson, Mark (Susan) Westphal, Melanie (Alan) Blechl; nieces and nephews; cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Wilke officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Winchester.

Laurie always approached each day with a positive attitude despite the disabling effects of MS that had been with her all of her adult life.
