Arden D. Eckstein, age 91, of Larsen, entered eternal life on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Patriot Place Assisted Living in Berlin. He was born on February 5, 1931, in Neenah, WI the son of the late William and Hattie (Getlinger) Eckstein. Arden graduated from Neenah High School in 1948. On February 7, 1953, Arden married Dorothy Kohler in Menasha. They were married for 68 years. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2021. Arden farmed his entire life on his family farm, Valley Creek Farms, in the town of Clayton. He was also a DeKalb seed dealer for 30 years and served on the ASCS and Farm Services Agency for 29 years, the Land and Water Board for 12 years, and served 8 years as the town of Clayton Supervisor. Arden's passion was farming, however he also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Arden was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester.
Arden is survived by his son, Cary, Berlin; six grandchildren, Carissa (Jeremy) Fritz, Catie (Chad) Emerson, Craig (Veronica) Eckstein, Kevin Eckstein, Hailey Eckstein (Daniel), and Dillon Eckstein; six great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kara and Caelyn Fritz, Ashlyn, Ethan and Aisley Emerson; his sister, Ardys Seelow; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; a son, Scott; a daughter-in-law, Cindy; a brother, Arlin (Aimee) Eckstein, a sister, Audrey (Alvin)Thums; and a brother-in-law, James Seelow.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St., Winneconne. Rev. Brian Staude will officiate. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
