Norbert Van Handel, age 85, of Winchester, died Wednesday, October 26, 2022. He was born January 31, 1937, the 7th of 12 children, to the late Joseph and Mary Van Handel, and grew up in the Freedom area.

Norbert is survived by three sons, Jerold, Joseph “Joe”, and James; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, and other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Norbert was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and John; wife, Betty; three brothers, and two sisters.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church W2037 Cty Rd S Freedom. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
