Richard “Dick” Tews, age 85, of Winchester, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2022, and was reunited with his beloved wife, Roseann. He was born May 5, 1937, in Appleton to the late Alvin and Grace (Derfus) Tews. Dick served his country in the National Guard Company E 127th Division of the U.S. Army and was summoned to active duty at Fort Lewis Washington, during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He was employed by Kimberly-Clark for 40 years as a Research Scientist being awarded numerous patents both individual and collaborative. On February 12, 1966, Dick married Roseann Koslowski starting their life in Menasha and eventually moving to Appleton to raise their family.

Upon retirement Dick and Roseann moved to Winchester and became members of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne. Together they spent time at their cottage on Lake Poygan, where Dick enjoyed chasing perch, being with family, and playing a good game of cribbage. For many years they wintered together with friends on South Padre Island, Texas.

Dick will be forever missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Pam Tews, of Sherwood, and their daughters, Lindsey and Lauren; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Steve McQuin, of Beaver Dam, and children, Chloe and Calvin; and other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Roseann; father-in-law and mother in-law, Dave and Bernice Koslo; a brother, Jack; and brother-in-law, Tim Koslowski.

A private family funeral service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne at a later date. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Menasha.

A special thank you to the Island Shores staff for their compassionate care of Dick and support of his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, in Dick’s name.
