Minnie E. Rutten, of Boom Bay, died Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at home. She was born September 22, 1934, in Oshkosh to the late Frank and Ruth (Close) Lenz. In 1953 Minnie graduated from Kaukauna High School and later graduated from Airline Personal School in Omaha, Nebraska. On April 30, 1955, she married Christian Rutten in Little Chute, where they made their home. For 20 years Minnie was employed as a Library Assistant at St. John’s Catholic School in Little Chute, retiring in 1997. Minnie and Chris made their home on Lake Poygan in 1997 after spending all of their summers there. She enjoyed reading, doing crafts, puzzles, and traveling. Minnie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 258 of Little Chute, having served as its past president.

Minnie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Chris Rutten; three children, Randal (Connie Brandenburger) Rutten, Robert (Peggy Leach) Rutten, Roxanne (John) Slowatyniec; grandchildren, Devon Slowatyniec (special friend, Katrina), Isabel Slowatyniec, Grant, Joette (Jason) Behm; great-grandchildren, Ariyanna, Kylie, Cayden, Kenley; a brother, Frank Lenz; three sisters, Ruth Fritz, Lois (Arnold) Knott, Esther Rolf; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Minnie was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Michelle Rutten; a niece, Linda Hoelzel; sister-in-law, Alice Lenz; and brother-in-law, Elmyron Fritz.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Dar and staff; the Aurora at Home Hospice staff, especially nurses Casey and Alice; and a special thank you to daughter-in-law, Connie for helping Minnie on her 14-month journey.
