Peter J. Luce, age 61, of Winneconne, passed on to the other side on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, after a 4-year courageous battle with cancer. He is now enjoying a reunion that will be forever there for all of his family when their time comes.

Peter was born September 13, 1961, in Oshkosh to Charles and Delores (Stewart) Luce. He was a 1980 graduate of Winneconne High School. Peter was employed by INX International Ink Company, where he made many friendships, and Peter’s family is very thankful to INX for their support and understanding during his long illness.

He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including trap shooting and golfing, and was very fond of his vintage 1957 Dunphy boat.

Peter was devoted to his family and friends, always willing to help in any way he could, never asking for anything in return. He was loved and will be missed by: his mother, Delores Luce; two brothers and a sister, Mike (Joni) Luce, Carrie Ann Daniels, Warren (Candy) Luce; uncle, Chester “Chet” (Rosie) Luce; his closest cousin, Ron Luce; his longest and dearest friend, Ken “Tiny” Thrun; and many cousins and friends.

Preceding Peter in death were his father, Charles Luce; grandparents, Elliot and Ruth Luce; an uncle, William Elliott Luce, who went missing in World War II; cousin, Bill Luce; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A service will be held on Friday, February 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Giles-Luce American Legion Hall in Winneconne until 3:45 p.m., and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. a wake will be held at Tiny’s in Winneconne. A private interment will be at a later date in the Winneconne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations will go to the Froedtert Hospital Cancer Research and Trial Programs.

The Luce family extends its sincerest gratitude to Dr. Ben George, Peter’s oncologist, and his staff. Dr. George extended Pete’s life and his personal relationship with him and determination to fight his battle with care and compassion for being a doctor who fights a battle with a disease that ravages many will not be forgotten. Also, thank you to the staffs of Evergreen and Promedica Hospice, for the care with which they watched over Peter during his short time there.

If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfh.net.
