Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Robert William Loehrke, age 89, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. He was born June 18, 1933, in the Town of Saxeville to the late William and Olga (Wegner) Loehrke. Bob was baptized on July 2, 1933, at Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind and was confirmed on July 28, 1946, at the same church. In 1951 Bob graduated from Weyauwega High School. He enlisted into the Army Paratroopers in August 1951. Bob served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in August 1954. On July 8, 1954, Bob married Alice Pagel and they lived in Columbus, Georgia, Butte des Morts and West Bloomfield. In 1961 Bob and Alice built a home in Winchester, where they resided and raised their family.
Bob was a fireman with the Clayton-Winchester Fire Department for 17 years, 13 of which he was the Fire Chief. He worked at Kimberly-Clark from 1956 until his retirement in 1994, where he worked as a millwright, maintenance supervisor and a maintenance consultant. After retiring Bob spent his time repairing small engines.
Bob loved music and enjoyed dancing. He taught himself on the button box accordion, piano accordion and the concertina. He also taught himself to play the piano. His pride and joy was his lawn, he wanted no leaves and everything cut short. He enjoyed mowing the lawn about every couple of days.
Bob was a past member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Larsen, where he was on the church council and served as president. Bob was presently a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clayton.
Robert is survived by his son, Myron Loehrke; son-in-law, Robert Gunz; grandchildren, Marcia (Jeff) Meagher, Tony (Erika) Gunz; step-grandson, Cody Vonarmentrout; a sister, Gertrude Raguse, one sister-in-law, Betty Loehrke; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Alice Loehrke; daughter, Marilyn Gunz; and five brothers and two sisters.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 24 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church 3703 Fairview Rd. Neenah. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Robert Wilke officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Concordia Cemetery, West Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial for the Larsen-Winchester Lions Club will be established.

I will miss a truly good friend. If you spent any time with Bob, you will remember that you always had a good time. Few will ever know of Bob’s military service in Korea and what a decorated hero he was. My thoughts are with Myron and Bob’s grandchildren. Rest in peace my friend.
