Donna A. Albright, age 98, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Waupaca after a short stay.

Donna was born on August 5, 1924, in the Town of Poy Sippi, the daughter of Albert and Hattie Haase. She was baptized and confirmed at the Borth Evangelical Church. She married Melvin Albright on September 18, 1943, at the Borth Church, where she was still a member. Donna was a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years and also a member of the church’s Esther Circle. She also was active in the Loyal Homemakers Club and Waushara County Homemakers, where she served as President.

Being a leader of the Loyal 4-H for many years was an important part of her life. Donna was the social greeter to whoever entered the building to see the exhibits.

Donna was employed by the Berlin School District as the Poy Sippi Elementary School cook and was known and loved by students and staff as “Grandma Albright”. The students and staff were all her family away from home. Donna enjoyed working with children and the elderly. After her retirement from school, she volunteered her time at Juliette Manor in Berlin to cheer up the residents, she always said that she had to go and make the older people happy, (she was 85 at the time).

Love of music was always in her life, from singing in church, singing with the Mel Albright Polka Band and in the latter years singing with the Albright Praise Band in all of the area churches with her son, Larry. She enjoyed her many houseplants, photography and traveling to all 50 States on bus tours, which she organized. Donna also enjoyed working as an election poll worker for many years.

Her greatest joy was her family, she enjoyed going to concerts, musicals and sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donna lived in her farm home for 96 ½ years. After a serious fall, for the last two years she resided at Park Vista-The Legacy in Waupaca.

Donna is survived by her sons, Larry (Susie) Albright, of Poy Sippi; Fred Albright, of River Falls; granddaughters, Gina Fleegal, of Green Lake; Erika (Jon) Hanson, of Pine River; Heidi (Nathan) Hutter, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Julie, Sarah, Alexa, and Eva Fleegal; Hailey (friend, Eugene), Jackson, Hilarie and Sili Hanson; two sisters, Luella Remmel, of Oshkosh; Ina Mae Remmel, of Oshkosh; sister-in-law; Lois Raab, of Appleton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Donna Albright. May words of encouragement uplift your spirit at this time. Death is never easy but to know that Donna lived a full life with such a loving family and so many friends is comforting. She touched many lives and will be thought of often. In the difficult days to come may the many wonderful memories of her life give you comfort. Something we have personally found to be of great comfort are the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28 “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus) voice and come out. May God Jehovah comfort you during this sad time in your life.
