Dolores H. Zabel, of Winneconne, passed away at the age of 80 on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. Dolores was born on April 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Otto and Cecilia (Ratajczak) Ruedinger. She attended Winneconne Schools, and in her younger years helped on the family farm. Through her adult years she was employed at various places in Oshkosh. On August 24, 1963, Dolores married Richard A. Zabel, at St Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne. Dolores and Dick enjoyed 48 years of marriage before Dick’s passing in 2012. Dolores was a member of Ladies Ducks Unlimited. She enjoyed Ducks Unlimited functions, and attending the banquets with Dick.  She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards, NASCAR races, polka music and spending time with family and friends.

Dolores was loved by all who knew her and is survived and will be missed by: her brothers, Thomas Ruedinger and Arthur (Dawn) Ruedinger; sisters-in-law, Judy Ruedinger, Suzanne Ruedinger and Dawn Ruedinger; special nieces and nephew, Carmen Schmidt and Kevin (Amy) Kiplin. Dolores is further survived by many other nieces and nephews, family members and dear friends.

In addition to her husband Dick, and her parents, Dolores was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Ruedinger, Joseph Ruedinger and Charles Ruedinger; her sisters, Barbara Gelhar and Rosemary Kiplin; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Gelhar and Robert Kiplin.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Monday at Noon at the church with Pastor Ritchie Cole officiating. A luncheon will follow. After lunch burial will take place at the Lind Center Cemetery in the Town of Royalton, Waupaca County.

Dolores’ family wishes to thank the staffs of Aurora Medical Center and ICU, Eden Meadows, Bethel Home, and a special thanks to Aurora Hospice and her special nurse, Jayne Henke, for all of the care given to her.
