LaVera Marie Peterson, age 81, of Winneconne passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born in Canton, Wisconsin on February 20, 1936, to Harold and Vera (Ward) Gwin. Her family later moved to Wonewoc, Wisconsin where she attended school. On April 15, 1953, LaVera married Duane Peterson of LaValle, Wisconsin, and they raised four children. For 26 years LaVera worked at J.J. Keller & Associates until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. LaVera was a member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Winneconne.
LaVera is survived by three children, Terri (Rick) Radtke, of Winneconne; Shelly (Troy) Slover, of Pickett; Greg (Jeannie) Peterson, of Butte des Morts; grandchildren, Kimberly Radtke, Elysia (Brian) Wagner, Katie (Steve) Casey, Scott Peterson, Clint Peterson, Dillan Peterson, Jaymie Peterson, Chris Clauson, Stephanie Sweere; great-grandchildren, Abigail Casey, Aliyah Eckstein, Brooke Peterson, Ben Peterson, Addyson Wagner, Emerson Naughton, Anabell Clauson, Adrianna Sweere; a sister, Lola (Roy) Subera; sister-in-law, Carol (Gordon) Terpstra; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding LaVera in death were her parents; her husband, Duane Peterson; a son, Gary Peterson; a granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Peterson; two sisters, Clarene Gwin, Bernadine Frank; a brother, Clifford Gwin; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Agnes Peterson.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church 6090 Harbor South (corner of Hwy 116 and Harbor South) Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.
LaVera's family wishes to thank the staffs of Aurora Medical Center ICU and Aurora At Home Hospice for the wonderful care given to her.

I am saddened to hear of Lavera's passing. I was a co worker for many years and she always put a smile on my face. She was quite the character. Rest In Peace!
