David Jacobson, of Naples, FL was called for a heavenly tee time at 5:41 a.m. on December 1, 2017. He had been suffering from Dementia for the last two years. He was 82 years old. Dave was born in West Allis, WI on May 19, 1935, to Julius "Jake" and Mayrose (Mather) Jacobson.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp, was very involved with sports, loved his golf and was proud of his two holes-in-one! Dave was an excellent bowler in his day as well as an arm chair quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. When his boys were young he spent quality time not only practicing but coaching Little League teams with his Dad Jake.
Dave loved the north woods where he was fondly dubbed the "Deer Whisperer" as he was able to hand feed the deer in the back yard. Fishing, boating, golfing, and being with family gave him a great sense of family, friendships, and serenity. Some of his favorite evenings were playing cards with "up north" friends. Dave spent his working career building Winagamie Golf Course, managing a large construction/site work operation in Wisconsin, and had his own "Dave Duzitahl" company where he really "did it all". He also drove the tram at Pelican Bay for 8 years after retirement and enjoyed the people he met along the way.
Dave was a member of Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples, and Quail Run Golf Club where he served 6 years on the Board of Directors.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Cummins) Jacobson; three sons, Terry (Tracey), Cal (Wendy), and Kip; and a daughter, Katie (Will) Ricketts. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Ashley, Shelby (Christian) Bird, Kyle, Taylor (Lauren), Tanner (Meaghan), Kiana and Dayne Jacobson, and Isabel and Trevor Ricketts; four great- grandsons; his sister, Judy (Bill) Olson; Nancy Jacobson, the mother of his children; a niece, and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Allen; a son, Lon; and a grandson, Spencer.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held at Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples on December 28, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a coffee reception. For the out of town friends and relatives, the service can be viewed on your computer via live streaming from the church. A Wisconsin celebration is planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moorings Presbyterian Church Music program or an organization of your choice.
Dave was a bright light in many lives with his deep sense of faith, his love of his family, his ability to help those in need and his quirky sense of humor. Until we meet again, we will miss you Dave. "Thanks for the wonderful memories." Judy.
