Aunt Janet was married to my Mother's brother. We will always have our treasured memories of visiting the Metzigs on the farm and the generosities to her neices and nephews. She and my Uncle Dick took such great care of the ancestral Metzig home and we are grateful that they shared that history with us. We know that the Metzig grit and strength is a big part of our legacy. Janet kept us laughing and we will miss her.

Being the younger of her nieces or nephews, I can honestly say, probably didn't know her as much as most, as her myself. I can say I never saw her angry, or heard her speak badly of anyone else. Not long ago, I did speak with her on the phone. She sounded fine and seemed happy. And I will miss her and remember her as such..

Our Aunt Janet was kind, clever, and always interested in our lives even living far away. She was a “spark plug” and will be missed. We loved her very much; from her California Family.

I am a nephew of Janet on the Metzig side of the family. Janet could be a real tough cookie at times and she had deep convictions on a number of subjects. Once you convinced her that you were a friend and not an enemy she warmed up to you. She thought of herself as tough but in reality she was warm, friendly and especially generous. She will be greatly missed by those who truly knew her. God Bless
