Audrey A. Ceelen, age 91, of Oshkosh, died Saturday December 9, 2017, at Willow Lane Assisted Living in Appleton. She was born January 11, 1926, in Oshkosh to the late Joseph and Cathrine (Berendt) Mathe. On July 19, 1947, Audrey married Henry "Hank" R. Ceelen at St. Vincent's Parish in Oshkosh. Through the years Audrey had worked at Universal Foundry, Morgan Doors, and at Christmas time, Miles Kimball and the post office. Audrey was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, and since 2002 she has been a member of St. Raphael the Archangel in Oshkosh. She enjoyed gardening and doing woodcrafts.
Audrey is survived by six children and twelve grandchildren: Richard (Shirley) Ceelen, and their children, Amanda (Jon) Zenker, and Eric (Jillian) Ceelen; Robert Ceelen, of Arizona; Roxanne (Robert) Berndt, and their children, Becky (Chris) Braman, Jason (Nicole) Berndt; Mark Ceelen (Julie), and his children, Andy (Molly) Ceelen, Kristy (Allen) Haemmerle, Mark "Max" (Thuyvi) Ceelen; Julie (Dan) Kilgas, and their children, Ashley, Jessica, and Cody Kilgas; Lori (Mark) Harness, and their sons, Zachary Harness, and Luke (Mackenzie) Harness. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, John, Clifford (Joy), and Joseph Mathe; and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Audrey was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on September 6, 2007; two sisters, Dorothy Mathe, Irene Pocquette; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Donald and Marilyn Mathe, Rose Mathe, Carolyn Mathe.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Matthew Rappl officiating. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
To the entire staff at Willow Lane, Hospice Advantage, and Dr. Patricia Demery, THANK YOU for being angels on earth! You took care of all of us by taking such excellent care of our Mother. Bless you all.
Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Friend; your life was fully lived, but your time on this earth has come to an end. Rest well as your work here is done and give Dad a big kiss from all of us. We all love you, and you will be wholeheartedly missed.
