Ronald "Ronnie" Ralph Burr, age 81, of Winneconne, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born March 12, 1936, in Neenah to the late Ralph and Lucille (Domkowski) Burr. Ronnie was a 1955 graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee. For 7 years he served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. On July 26, 1956, Ron married Mildred Anne Butler at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Memphis. In 1960 Ron and Mildred Anne returned to Neenah/Menasha from Memphis. From 1962 until his retirement in 1997 he worked at the Wisconsin Tissue Mills. Upon retirement they built their dream home on Lake Winneconne, where his family had a cottage since the 60s. Ronnie loved fishing, the Packers and Brewers, was an avid hunter and animal lover. He always had a Blatz Light to offer all visitors.
Ron will be missed dearly by: his wife of 61 years, Mildred Anne Burr, of Winneconne; four children, Randy (Dawn) Burr, of Neenah; Ricky (Cheryl) Burr, of Cherokee, Alabama; Rebecca Anne Burr, of Winneconne; Russell (Lisa) Burr, of Menasha; grandchildren, Craig Burr, of Cherokee, Alabama; Connie (Jimmy) Sims, of Florence, Alabama; Coral Foate (Kenny Blevins), of Appleton; Brooke Burr, of Neenah; Michelle Burr, of Neenah; Dustin Burr, of Neenah; Jeremy Krueger, of Neenah; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert J. (Karen) Burr, of Neenah; and other relatives and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment with military honors will be on Friday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah.
Ronnie's family wishes to thank the staffs of Eden Meadows, Oshkosh, Atrium of Appleton, Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, and Dr. Clair of Aurora, Oshkosh, and Dr. Tomm of Aurora BayCare, Green Bay, for all of the care and attention given to him these last few months.
