George E. Kresal, age 96, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born December 14, 1926, to the late Edward and Henrietta (Halder) Kresal. George was born and lived in the same farmhouse for 97 years.  
At the age of 17, George joined the United States Marine Corp., where he served for 4 years during World War II. He was very proud to serve his country. He was a member of the American Legion Post 364-Winneconne. George was an avid hunter and trapper. Every October he would go on his annual hunting trip out to Colorado or Wyoming with his buddies. George was never seen without a hunting, tractor or Marine Corp. cap on his head. Please wear your favorite cap at his funeral. 
George is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is further survived by his very faithful and wonderful friends, Mark and Vicki Bernarde, Tom and Linda Breaker, Danny Breaker, John Andrashko, Jeff Schmude, Russell and Amy Volp, Lee Volp, Dale Volp, Dillon Volp, the Oliver brothers, Jack Spiegelberg, Tom Burts and many other buddies.  
George was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Goldsmith; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Rose Kresal; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Clarence Yaroch; his wife, Doris; and friends, Rusty Schmude and Gleason Spiegelberg; and many others.  
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. Military honors and burial will follow at the Winneconne Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Legion Post 364 P.O. Box 131 Winneconne, WI 54986.

thoughts are with family of george K. he was a good old bird .I remember drinking alot of RED DOG beer with him and sharing stories.I must have been a good listener he had alot of stories. we all enjoyed seeing him around hunting time at my brothers. I will be wearing my John Deere Cap today in his memory
