Joanne Abendroth, 87, of Winneconne, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born June 27, 1936, in Van Dyne to the late Bruno “Red” and Margaret (Luebke) Beduhn. Joanne was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On July 23, 1955, she married Robert “Bizz” Abendroth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nekimi. Joanne received a degree as a food service supervisor from Fox Valley Tech in Appleton. She was employed by the Winneconne School District and Park View Health Center Winnebago County. Joanne was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. She was also an active member of the Winneconne American Legion Auxiliary where she served as the membership chairman, was involved with poppy sales, participated with the Memorial Day wreaths, jam sessions, and brat stands. Joanne and Bizz enjoyed fishing, golfing, casino trips, and spending time at their property in Saxeville.

Along with her parents, Joanne was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bizz” Abendroth; and her daughters, Pamela Jean (Abendroth) Tanner, Mary Jo (Abendroth) Poeschl; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald “Bud” and Rona Beduhn, Carlton “Tuffy” and Diana Beduhn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George “Bud” and Elaine Abendroth, Ole and Sondra Soderlin; and a nephew, Keith Soderlin.

Joanne is survived by a son-in-law, Bob Poeschl; a grandson, Robert Poeschl II; great-grandchildren, Diah, Kallum, and Madrona Larson-Poeschl; nieces, Jan Klemm, Joy Konrad, Jody Brooks, Debbie Malchow; nephews, Jim Beduhn, Kevin Soderlin; and other relatives and many very special friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church 8 S. 4th St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

So sorry to hear of Joanne's passing and that of both daughters. In fact I remember that the girls were the recipients of my childhood wooden doll house after I outgrew playing with dolls and the little furniture. Joanne was also a wonderful caregiver to my mother Evie for a short time before she passed in 1997. I'm sure she will be missed by many.
