Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Leslie William Romberg was born on May 26, 1933, in the Village of Winneconne, the son of the late Daniel and Hildegard (Tesch) Romberg. God saw to it that Leslie became a child of God through holy baptism as he was baptized at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne on June 18, 1933. He was later confirmed in the faith, also at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winneconne.
Leslie was a 1951 graduate of Winneconne High School. On June 25, 1955, Leslie married Elaine Carol Kunde at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winneconne. He was a faithful Christian husband to his wife and a loving devoted father. Shortly after they were married Leslie was drafted into the U.S. Army. Leslie was a lifelong farmer. In the ‘70s, Leslie enjoyed tractor pulling and became the 8th ranked puller in the state. He also enjoyed deer hunting and bird watching, especially cardinals.
On May 13, 1969, the Lord blessed Leslie and Elaine with the gift of their firstborn son, Robert Daniel Romberg. They were blessed with another son as well, Peter William Romberg on August 2, 1972. They loved their sons very much and raised them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Leslie was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and showed this by his actions all his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Winneconne.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Romberg and his wife Melissa (Schultz), Peter Romberg and his wife Amy (Hoffman); grandchildren, Jackson Romberg, Connor Romberg, and Courtney Romberg; sisters, Shirley Schroeder, Carol (Cline) Porsche; in-laws, Donald (Lois) Kunde, Judy (Dale) Wilde; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Leslie was also preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Romberg; his father-in-law and mother in-law, Earl and Gladys Kunde; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry Schroeder, Betty and Ronnie Achterberg, and Pat Kunde.
