Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
On Sunday, May 5, 2024, the Lord came and took Roy’s hand and led him home after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s and colon cancer.
Roy A. Beyer was born July 14, 1930, in Shiocton to the late Frank and Adela (Schroeder) Beyer. Roy served his country in the Army Infantry from October 1951 until August of 1953. On May 19, 1956, he married Patricia Netzler at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. For 10 years Roy worked for Menasha Woodenware and then for 29 years he was employed at Great Northern Corp. until retiring in 1992. Roy was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne and the American Legion Post 364, Winneconne. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flower gardening, and traveling the United States and foreign countries.
Roy is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Patricia Beyer, of Winneconne; five children, Lori (Rick) Wisniewski, of Cabot, Arkansas; Susan (Gilbert) Hill, of Pine River; Thomas (Deirdre) Beyer, of Hingham, Massachusetts; David Beyer, of Madison; Paul Beyer, of Lorton, Virginia; six grandchildren, Amy Wisniewski, Abby Wisniewski (special friend, Adam), Andrew Hill (special Friend, Hannah), Eric (Anna Caroline) Hill, Emma Beyer, Elizabeth Beyer; a great-grandson, Thomas Klayton Hill; Godchildren, Nancy Webb, Larry Beyer; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Roy was also preceded in death by brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Robert and Erna Beyer, Donald and Bonita Beyer, Russell and Eileen Beyer, LaVerne Beyer, Doris Beyer, Carol and Earl Ludtke.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church 8 S. 4th St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.
