Len H. Herbst, beloved son, brother, boyfriend, and friend, passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 52. He was born on February 7, 1972.

Throughout his life, Len was known for his hard work and dedication. He embarked on various professional endeavors, leaving an indelible mark wherever he went. From his early days at Jack Cleven Inc. to his time at Jim Fischer, Switchgear Power Systems, and IPI, Len approached his work with integrity and skill.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Len found joy in his hobbies and passions. A true outdoorsman, he loved farming, hunting, and the simple pleasures of rural life. Len had a special affinity for raising steers and spending time with his many tractors. He could often be found maintaining lanes on the farm with his trusty skid steer or exploring the countryside on his four-wheeler.

Len's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. Len was the son of the late Harold “Sonny” Herbst and the late Nancy (Paulick) Herbst. He cherished the moments spent with his girlfriend, Caryn Hartfield, and held dear the memories shared with his siblings: Tony (Nora) Herbst, Mike (Billie) Herbst, Barb (Tom) Meier, and Trina (Dave Gutche) Herbst-Gutche. Len's nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and great-nephews brought him immense joy, and he cherished his role as uncle with warmth and affection.

A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, Len's enthusiasm for his team was unmatched. At family watch parties, he was always armed with his foam finger, lucky football, and orange Crush shots to celebrate every touchdown.

Len will be remembered for his infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.

A celebration of Len's life will be held on Saturday June 8, 2024, at The Hill Tavern 8069 Cty Rd D Omro, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In honor of Len’s love for the Packers and hunting, we invite attendees to consider wearing attire that reflects these passions as a tribute to his memory.

Len H. Herbst will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.

I just heard of Len's passing today and was saddened by the news. Growing up with Len from grade school through graduation I cannot recall a moment of poor character. Words that come to mind when I think of Len: Hard worker. Dedicated. Principled. Funny. Reliable. One funny memory for me was 3rd or 4th grade we both went out for wrestling. He was the only kid skinnier than me, so we naturally were paired up. He picked me up and body slammed me like it was the WWF - that was my last time wrestling :) Len will be missed.

It is always sad when another branch from the family tree has fallen. I am 3rd generation of the Herbst/Jungwirth family tree. Rest in Peace, dear Len.
