Julie Dee Laabs, 65, of Boom Bay, died Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. She was born in Neenah on July 15, 1958, to the late George and Carol (Baldauf) Elwood. Julie was a 1976 graduate of Neenah High School. On August 29, 1987, she married Jeff Laabs at Faith United Methodist Church in Neenah. Julie’s work career included being employed at Electro Measure Inc., Pensier, Plexus, and PPS Kimberly-Clark. She enjoyed fishing at home or on the boat, spending time with her grandchildren, and being at the hunting land and cabin in Tigerton.
Julie is survived by her husband of almost 37 years, Jeff Laabs; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Jacob Steinbach; grandchildren, Kameron and Phebee; a sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Dave Davidson; a sister-in-law, Judy Calabrese; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with her parents, Julie was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Ella Laabs; and two brothers-in-law, Michael Laabs and Nick Calabrese.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Laatsch officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery, Town of Wolf River.
A memorial fund will be established.
